The meeting of the Working Group for the Elimination and Prevention of Violence against Women in Spišská Nová Ves was held in the premises of the Office of Labour, Social Affairs and Family in Spišská Nová Ves.
At the meeting we welcomed new members. The working group was expanded by a representative of the District Police Department in Spišská Nová Ves, a representative of the Social Department of the town of Spišská Nová Ves and a representative of the Slovak Red Cross, which does specialized counselling.
At the beginning, all members introduced themselves and the institution they represent. Next, the representative of the HANA Counselling Centre presented the Working Group in terms of its history, the process of its establishment, the way it operates and where the Working Group is today.
The second item on the agenda was a clarification or needs update. One of the needs was the implementation of sensitization training and education on violence against women.
Another need is to share experiences and consult on specific cases of violence and also to summarize and complete the available contacts of organizations that could be contacted in case of need.
At the end of the meeting, we talked with the members of the working group about the current developments in the institutions they represent.
