The repeated meeting of the working group, which took place on 21.6.2023 in the premises of the Office of the 1st contact before going abroad in the building of the Social Insurance Institution in Michalovce, was with the participation of key institutions that come into contact with violence against women on a daily basis. Precisely in the area of prevention and elimination of violence against women and their protection and safety, coordination and coordinated response is a must among institutions. We welcomed a new member from the Michalovce District Office, Department of General Internal Administration. We spoke together about the unequal status of men and women and why a man maintains power and control over his spouse. Those present shared their experience with expert opinions, which many times help them to direct themselves to the right path when dealing with the safety of women and children. We are grateful for the regular participation of members with whom we effectively build multi-agency cooperation and our common goal is to effectively assist and protect women experiencing violence and their children in Michalovce.
The project „We stand with women. We protect and support them!“ benefits from a 486 622 € grant from Norway through the Norway Grants. The project has been co-financed from the State Budget of the Slovak Republic in the amount of 72 993 €.
The aim of the project is to increase availability of specialist counselling centres for women – survivors of intimate partner violence and their children in Kosice region by enhancing and increasing the quality of support services in the existing counselling centres in Košice, Michalovce and Spišská Nová Ves and establishing new counselling centres in Rožňava, Gelnica and Sobrance. At the same time, our aim is to make information about the counselling centres and help and support they provide more available to women in Košice region and to improve the response of institutions where women and children seek protection from violence
