On 10-11.10.2023 the Civic Association Pomoc rodine implemented training for field social workers, field workers and community centers in the district of Trebišov in the scope of 16 hours. The space for the training was provided by the Municipal Office in Trebišov
We addressed the participants of the training by letter, and subsequently by phone to the individual municipalities Bačkov, Hraň, Sirník, Egreš, Michaľany, Malčice, Čierna nad Tisou, the town of Sečovce and Trebišov. From several villages we received a negative answer that they were not interested in the education. We have consulted with them by telephone. In the end, 13 people signed up for the training, of which 1 person excused himself due to sickness before the training was carried out. Another person excused himself/herself on the first day of the training and thus the stable number of participants was 11. Participants were from the villages of Michaľany, Hraň, Malčice and from the towns of Sečovce and Trebišov.
The training itself was focused on violence and its causes, forms or dynamics of violence and myths or facts about violence against women. On the second day we focused on the topics of why women do not leave, what strategies women have. At the same time, what strategies men use to maintain power and control over a woman.
The feedback has been positive. Many at the beginning of the training described that they had not encountered violence in their neighbourhood. At the end of the first day of the training, they themselves acknowledged that there was violence in and around their environment. They perceived the content of the training positively and recommended to inform state and public administration workers about the issue.
